Career

Career, a word that revolves around each one of us.

A word that in itself consists of a lot of expectations by parents, family, friends and above all expectation from ourselves.

From the day even before a child is born his goals are set by the dear parents. Most of the times, we find that parents are actively involved in choosing career options for their children mostly based on consultations from many people including teachers, seniors, relatives, neighborhood often sidetracking the person who should be the one who has to choose. Well there are different opinions on this somewhere the parents decide and elsewhere the student follows another student.

This attitude of choosing whats ”in the trend’ leads only to increase of a one more person in the rat race who doesn’t know what he has to do with his life and ends getting frustrated or dissatisfied with all that he has done.

I therefore believe this is no more a career to be called it is a carrier which is driven by an external force.

We need to strongly realize that whatever we chose should be able to satisfy us in the long run- us as a person. To recognize what will be able to satisfy us as a study option, or a profession, it is very essential to know your inclination and interest. What interests us as a career option cannot be determined in a single day. That requires time investment. This helps in determining our purpose in life, in setting of goals. Once we recognize ourselves, short and long term goals can be set as in, “How do I see myself one year from now?” and to set your goals for months and days.

We have to remember that career is not something which means education and profession; it also means growth as a person and personal fulfillment. So career options should also be such that gives us immense satisfaction as a person and pride.

I don’t mean to say that everyone need to search for a career options but atleast to develop and to identify within self that internal energy, to which way they will be enlightened. This is important for you to set the goals from the initial stage and to be clear on the milestones. Then no matter if it is engineering, medical, animation, jewelry designing, aviation or any offbeat career after that. You would atleast have your own choice.

In India the percentage of followers is more and that of thinkers / innovators.

We fail to create great leaders, because leaders do not follow others; but they tend to create followers. If we want to grow as a country & to overcome the corrupt system we have to find the innovation in ourself first, it can be any damm small thing which starts from your home…not necessarily directly changing the society. We have to eradicate the thinking, if he is doing engineering..I will also do it. Do it but when your instinct is ready for acceptance and not because of someone else’s power instinct.
